11 RETAIL PRICE INDEX
(RPI) (Индекс розничных цен) Индекс цен на покупаемые среднестатистическими семьями товары и услуги в магазинах розничной торговли. Выражается в процентах по отношению к базовому году, данные по которому принимаются за 100. Например, если для Великобритании в качестве базового выбирается 1987 г. (т.е. средний уровень цен 1987 г. принимается за 100), то для 1946 г. индекс розничных цен был равен 7,4, а для 1990 г.-126,1. Индекс розничных цен ежемесячно публикуется Центральным статистическим бюро и рассчитывается на основании цен примерно 130 000 различных товаров. Индекс розничных цен является одним из стандартных показателей темпов инфляции (inflation). В США и некоторых других странах индекс розничных цен носит название индекса потребительских цен (consumer price index).
